It's called a typewriter
You know what we had to use before computers.
This is mine:
It's a 1914 #10 from Royal. Isn't is pretty, well dirty but pretty. I just purchased it and can't wait to start sending letters home from it. Now I just need to buy ribbon for it and plenty of white-out. Anyone need a penpal?
This is mine:
the secret(s)
Well, as we head into fall, AREA tends to start stuffing its shelves in subconscious minor preparation, I believe, for the holiday season. Boxes upon boxes drop down into the basement, and do i my best to get through them as fast as possible.
I'll tell you how:
1 pair of scissors in my back right pocket
1 boxcutter in front right pocket (in case i drop scissors somewhere, it happens a lot!)
2 markers back left pocket
1 or 2 regular pens
1 indelible memory and the will to survive against any imminent cardboard onslaught
Check out what just came in: Bruder Trucks + Poupette Dolls from Corolle!!!!

5,4,3,2,1...BLAST OFF
So I'm a big kid. Okay, I'm a really big kid (you can interpret that however you want). I have a bit of a love for '50s/'60s style fantasy rocket ships. I even have a pair of rocket ship/outerspace onsies. What? They make them for adults too--they're amazing during the winter! When I saw Sugar Booger's outerspace baby spoon and fork at the AREA Kids store I freaked out. I know they are for the smaller ones but they would be a perfect carry along in any adults lunch box fitting ever so nicely in that days tubberware. Is anyone else getting hungry?
Just think about AREA KIDS having a band...

Afeisha will be the singer.
Jackie will play the Xylophone.
Loreta will play the Ukulele.
Jeff will play the guitar.
Jessica will play the banjo.
Nicole will play the drums.
Angel will pay the solid drum.
I will play the concertina. Now we still need more people, the directors, the one in charge of the light and equipment, sounds, etc.
So, if you guys are not in the list, let us know what are you good on so.....
We all can play together.
Let's safe some money.
ROSELLA.
FUN!!!

Absolute Sunday Record at Montague!
Busy days at Montague

Sooo yesterday I had no time to blog, because I was busy organizing the store and preparing it for the Fall Season!!! Loretta came later so we were doing it together. We took away all the summer stuff and put more fall stuff on sale.
But we still have a huge summer sale at our 5th Ave. store.
Ok, now I have to go back to work, still a lot of things to do! The store will look perfect by the end of the day, I'm sure!!!
1 Year Anniversary :)
Today is officially my 1 year anniversary of working here at Area Kids! I have to admit, I did not think I would have been here this long, but I really did start to love it here. I enjoy coming to 7th ave and seeing customers I have come to know the past year and having nice conversations with them...If it weren't for Area Kids I woulda never discovered the best bakery in the world!! Cousin Johns. Also this job has given my the opportunity to be myself. I don't have to come to work everyday and pretend to be someone else mainly because I work alone, but also a big part of that is because my fellow co-workers as well as Loretta are pretty down to earth. Everyone is pretty much hard working and focused on Area Kids that there is no time to be judgemental or petty.
Working here re-ensured me that I really do love children and do have patience and the road to becoming a school teacher is the right path for me :)
Area Kids Rulezzz Woooo Hoo!!!
