Wowwwwww Jeff...

This is how Jeff looked when he came to 7th ave.
Jeff you always do an amazing job but yesterday you showed your muscles and you impressed me.
I am so happy that you came yesterday.
What will we do without you?
Now I have a lot of work to do.

This is my store after Jeff.

The Cuteness

I was feeling pretty blocked up when it came to blog writing today. We have many, many great products to write about, but sometimes it's so hard to choose that it becomes a bit overwhelming. Nothing was giving me that special spark, that je ne sais quois that gets my fingers to typing. It's a good thing, then, that two of the cutest kids ever just came into my store.

Now we get a lot of cute kids here at Area - I mean a LOT of REALLY cute kids. But these two brothers, about 1 and 3 years old, were something else. From the minute they walked (or in the littler one's case, toddled and then fell) through my door my heart was stolen. The little one gurgled up at me. The older one giggled and waved. I was a goner.

We had a brief but intense bout of flirtation while their mother shopped. They were just way too adorable - all big brown eyes and smiles and drool. The older one asked a lot of questions - "what's this thing? And this one? And this one?" and then tried to pull down his mother's skirt. But in a really cute way. Even she couldn't get angry and wound up breaking down - "Honey, it's not polite (chuckle) to pull down mommy's (chuckle, giggle) skirt in public. Honey!" And then they all cracked up. What an excellent family.

Sounds of Court St

Over here at Court st, without working speakers, I've started paying attention to other sounds and at the moment it is far from silent. AC's provide a fairly loud drone that is sometimes a bit much when you have other things to listen to but is not altogether unpleasant when you don't. When it's off the whooshing cars are the most consistent and pleasant outside sound joined by random leaves crumpling by the door and of course your average sporadic city honks and yells.
While I am the first to worry that a day with no music will somehow leave me mentally and emotionally crippled, I have to admit there is a kind of peace and comfort to these kinds of sounds...for one day anyway!

Area Muscles.

Before I started to work at Area Kids I used to be very thin.
Running used to keep me always in a good shape.

When I got hire at Area Kids I met Angel. I was amazed of how skinny she was BUT most impressed about a such skinny girl with nice muscles specially in her arms.
She told me that her workout was lifting all the boxes from the stores and going up and down the basement stairs.
Now, after 4 months working at AREA KIDS I can see big muscles in my arms and legs.
For those that haven't see me for while. I am attaching a pic so you can see me now.

AREA KIDS is my job but it is also a great workout.
Maybe I will stop running soon.
