So as you know I'm on the search for an new pet, what you don't know is that I already have one. Hes a turtle named Sam.Don't worry I love him I just want him to have a furry companion. Any way the Twilight Turtles remind my Sammy.

I can't remember anyone ever asking me about these- before today. How often do people really use them? They look pretty cool and seem practical in some ways. I wonder though, do many people in the city have enough apt space to get that far away from their babies? And do they want to?

About that Tea thing!

The Tea brand seems to be the Area Kids mascot brand for childrens' clothing and I completely understand why. They come in a variety of different styles, colours, and they make really great quality clothing that are above all affordable. The most darling member of this clothing line is the Seymani Sundress. It is the most adorable little dress with clean, white ruffles, and cute, pink and gold detailing at the top. When I first saw it, I knew I had to get it for my friend's daughter. A beautiful little girl with a thick mess of hair. I can't wait to see her in this dress.

We had the yummy Donuts and we still have them at some of the stores but... NOW we got the Yummy Breakfast Keychains Ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!!!
I have to have them all.
They are too cute.
The pizza, the egg (my favorite), the cupcake, the banana, the milk, etc... and the crying egg ( he wants to be broken and cooked). I want to cry, they are too cute.

Who doesn't remember the Three Little Pigs Story?

I remember "Los tres chanchitos" story. I bet my dear friend Ursula remembers that too. Right!
She is my compinche, hahaha!!
It is a classic story.
I know all of you guys heard about it.
Remember the wolf.......ahhhhhhh!!!!!!!! The ugly wolf.
Yes, yes, yes we have it at AREA KIDS.
Three little houses, three little pigs and of course the Wolf.
The pigs and the houses coordinate (color and numbers).
It brings me a lot of good memories, my mommy used to read this story to me all the time.

You have to love it.

I don't have kids but I have a lot of things in my bathtub.
When I saw the Frog Pod for my first time I though it was kind of weird but It actually has a lot of benefits:

#1. It is my favorite color (green).
#2. It is cool.
#3. Makes bath time clean-up fun.
#4. Stores bath accessories and toys(if you have kids).
#5. Reduces Mildew (we all have it in the city).
#6. It attaches to almost any surface.

15000 BTUs!!!!!!

We have a new air conditioning unit over here at Area Play... Straight from "The baby store" into the sleeve of "331" (our address here on smith st.). This store has to be at least twice as big as AREA Mom & Baby, and yet, when Genarro opened up the Uhaul to reveal this behemoth of a thing, I was pretty sure this A/C unit was about 3 times as big as the one installed.

I'm all in favor of beating the odds; I love underdog stories, but I have to say that our A/C just sucked. No match for the afternoon sun coming through the front of the store, it was in dire need of retirement. Now don't get me wrong, it was a fine fine unit, giving it's all every single day against impossible circumstance. Big heart, but too little power...

So as I type this, I am bittersweetly basking in the comfort of our new super confident air conditioner, as our little A/C that couldn't, sleeps for now in the basement.

Let's stay cozy.

5th Ave Madness!!

Hey Everyone,

You've probably heard by now that our 252 Smtih street store, popularly known as "the baby store", has closed. Check out Nicole's post Bye Bye Baby for details. So while that is all very sad, it means that big and exciting things are happening at our other stores, particularly at 233 Smith St. and 5th ave.

Stop by today to see what we've got going on. I know at 5th ave we're doing some re-arranging and we've extended our counter space. Why, it's almost big enough to have a second computer put in (hint hint). Right now the store is a bit chaotic, but in a few days it will be better than ever! Viva la 5th ave!

Get ready for the 4th of July!

It's that time of year when everyone is getting ready for Barbeques and the beach!  Area Kids has lots to keep you cool, from water guns, to water balloons!  We also have a beach set full of toys to play with in the sand, and frisbee's to throw around on the beach!  Don't forget the water balloon launcher, just make sure not to get into any trouble!  Here's to hoping that everyone has a great 4th of July!
