FIRE + WATER

oh man oh man.

I was eating a slice of pizza for lunch; folded as per usual, and I usually always say "not too hot, please". However, this time around I forgot to ask and as I took my 3rd bite... you know when it starts to get WIDE, the bite pushed the sauce+cheese out onto my thumb giving me a 1st degree burn. I thought about suing briefly, but then felt stupid about potentially being the reason why pizza plates of the future say "caution: pizza is hot"

To go with my wicked hot slice, I bought a bottle of water also my typical beverage. I usually get a huge one to last a few hours. Had my momentary fill and left it on the desk to get back to work downstairs. It must have had a small puncture somewhere because when I just got back upstairs, the bottle was sitting in a puddle of water on the desk!!!!

I shrieked in terror (no i didn't) and grabbed some paper towels to soak up the minor disaster. No damage to anything important thankfully.. they should print a warning on those bottles: "caution: water is wet"

Meet Bunny

So I just noticed this adorable wind up bunny from Play Toys after a little boy brought it up to the counter. I have not been able to stop playing with it since, I literally giggle every time it hops up and down. (I know it doesn't take much, I'm very easily amused). There's also a wind up dog and oh man that one's even cuter than the bunny--I know hard to imagine, but it's true!

I have such a wonderful customers here at 7th ave.
I had a great experience today.
A customer came in just now around 2pm (lunch time) and asked me:
Did you eat lunch already?
I said: NO
She said: Good because I brought you YOGO monster.
I was like, OMG it is like a dream come true.
YOGO monster for lunch.
I love YOGO but it is very expensive so I can maybe only have it ones a week.
Now, I am so happy eating it and also happy just thinking that customers come here and because I give a good customer service they leave and think about me.
That was very very nice.

So...Last night while attempting to wash a fork a huge rat jumped out from under the dishes in my sink and not only nearly gave me heart attack but scurried off somewhere unknown in my apartment! That was the last straw! I could live with something breaking every other week, i could even learn to deal with the cockroaches, and the obnoxious neighbors i had pretty much tuned out, but RATS!! I called my landlord today, told them we were leaving and will now be paying much cheaper rent in Graves end, my favorite part of Brooklyn! I cannot wait to out of there!

I'm sure all of you have been relieved that the heat of summer has finally cooled, though the cool mornings and evenings only foreshadow the cold winter ahead. Is this what's in for Fall?

On my way into work today I found my self distracted and in awe of a gleaming shine that appeared to be coming from a woman's foot. When I glanced down and the realization hit me that this light was being reflected from an anklet the woman was wearing I stopped dead in my tracks...an ANKLET! When was the last time you wore or even saw someone wearing an anklet? While walking into the Montague store this morning I vaguely remember having worn one about 15 years ago when I was in 6th grade. Have I just been so out of the fashion world lately that I have completely missed the anklet comeback?

Cool but ANNOYING!!!!!

I have two of these Kikkerland LED key chains - I have the duck and the monkey - and I think they are practical but in a fun way. The lights are super bright which helps for when I'm trying to unlock my doors, and they make really funny but annoying sounds. I think the new Ghost one for Halloween takes the cake as being the most annoying of them all. I admit when I came into the toy store today and saw it I had to try it out. It's soooo LOUD. But it really got to me when all but maybe three customers came in and had to test it out themselves, it became irritating. I mean, I had one guy just hold the button down for they entire fifteen minutes he was in the store. I was relieved when he decided to buy it. I also bought one for myself so I can go piss off the roommates :)

That's pretty much how I spend my days

It's only been a month since I started grad school and I already feel overwhelmed between the time I'm at work and the time I'm not studying. But by the time I get home I don't want to do anything but lay down. I feel like I shouldn't be doing anything but work for school but of course that's when I have a billion things to do (yes a BILLION, I'm a very busy woman)! Is it Christmas break yet?

Right now I have the biggest craving for miso soup. It just sounds so delicious. I think it's a combination of the rainy weather and that I'm feeling a little sick that's making miso soup so appealing right now. Not only is it warm, comforting and delicious but it's healthy too!

Yeah miso, miso and some delicious mango peach green tea. Oh man I can't wait to get home to enjoy!

I just want to nap in one

The 7AM Enfant stroller bags look so soft and warm I just want to cuddle up inside one. It could be 10 degrees out and hailing and I'm pretty sure I would be all warm and cozy inside this amazing sleeping bag-like accessory for strollers. Perfect for those New York winters!

hahaha I just scared this little boy with the Plan Toy moving mouse LOL. I actually did make him cry...I did'nt mean to of course..all I did was pull the mousie by its tail backwards to show him that the mouse can move on its own! After that it all went down hill. I feel bad...but hey! at least now the kid knows how the plan toy mouse works haha. I love it.

Trick or Treat...almost

I love this time of year for several reasons but the most important one would be that it's almost the best day of the year...HALLOWEEN!!!!!!!!! What got me really excited was walking up to the %th Ave store this morning and seeing Jack O'lanterns in the window and spooky Halloween items on the counter. Okay well I know they are more cute than spooky but the Nyokki egg planter pets have got the right spirit.

Also you know it's Halloween season when you hear Pandora Radio play Bauhaus' Bella Lugosi's Dead!

Ok so I have to talk about this retarded (can I use retarded here?) Indian Billionaire named Mukesh Ambani. He is, according to Forbes Magazine the 5th richest man on earth right now with $45 billion dollars...now what did he do with 1 billion of it? he decided to build the worlds largest and obviously most expensive house, or rather sky scraper of a house. I mean what the heck! In his house he will have 27 floors...6 floors dedicated to his about 200 cars and another floor as a mechanic "shop" to service his ridiculous amount of cars, 5 floors to his 600 cleaning, help personnel, one floor as an "ice floor" because it gets really got in Mumbai so this floor is made of ice and can have "snow" fall on you and the rest with be his rooms for his family members. If I had that much money I wouldn't spend 1 billion to build a damn sky scraper to live in...imagine the electrical bill and maintenace fee he would have to dish out just to maintain the damn building! thats just ridiculous to me...

Marc Anthony Is awesome

ok so even thought Marc Anthony had a drug problem ( or maybe he still does) but that does not take away from his talent. Today started off pretty slow because of the rain and wind but I put on some Marc Anthony and got to workin and it put a smile on my face :)

Though I do not completely understand what he is singing about, it's beautiful nonetheless. His voice is really clear and crisp, and those high notes! I'm sure he is singing about love and all that good stuff hehe.

The new stuff from Claesen's is soo cute, it has edgy Rock & Roll theme. There are Onesies with guitar's on them!!! There also 'lil footed leggings with guitars, pink leopard print, pink argyle and light pink w/ grey mini hearts on them.

I need a Poncho

Unfortunatley I didn't plan on it taking me so long to get into the AREA Kids store today and thus I didn't expect to be out in the rain for so long. By the time I got into the nice warm and dry haven that is the 5th Ave store, my shoes were completely soaked through (even my socks are wet) and I pretty much look like this. The resemblance is quite remarkable and actually really scary.

LUCKY FISH!

We just got some really cute Lucky Fish stuff in today and I love it a lot! These amazingly handcrafted, hand silk-screened t-shirts are such a joy to see on kids. Each t-shirt is slightly imperfect, which is what I love about them, but they are surprisingly durable and can be thrown in any wash cycle (I suppose it’s advisable to use cold!).

And we got some OWL PRINTS in!
Owl stuff has been moving like hot cakes around here :)

Summer's Over!

It's really making me sad that summer is over, even though fall rules. I have the worst flu I've ever had and my throat is soooo sore and I just got sent the most ridiculous pictures from warped tour this summer that are making me nostalgic. Oh well, time to buckle down, drink lots of theraflu, price the rest of this Lucky Fish stuff and settle down for a long winter :(

Blond's, as has been proven over and over again, do not have more fun (except for Loretta)!! After a few months as a blond i have opted to return to my natural dark brown color and i am loving it! I was sick of the blond and it really is not a good fall color on me.
