NIGHTMARE.

I have to thank AREA KIDS for giving me the opportunity to go to the DMV today.
Thanks to Loreta, Jess, Angel and Ur.
But I have to say that DMV is totally a nightmare.
I got up at 6am this mooning, drove to Connecticut to renew my Connecticut driving license because the DMV toll free number told me to.
Got there and the people said to me that the toll free number gave me the bad information that I need to go back to Brooklyn to renew it.
Came back, went to the DMV in Atlantic Ave.
After 2hrs, someone said:
Patricia, you have everything but I need your marriage license.
WHATTTTTTTTTTTT???????????? I said.
Why do I need my marriage license to renew my driving license.
Because we do, NEXT....
They kicked me out pretty much.
People were rude, angry, unhappy, unhealthy and some look like the UGLY DOLLS that we carry in Area Kids and others like the Monchhichis.
Actually the UGLY DOLLS are cuter.
Ran to the 5ave store almost crying and told Jess about it.
She gave me all the support I needed to not cry.
Ran to the 7th ave store because my dear Angel was waiting for me(She was actually working for me).
All the way from 5th ave to 7th ave though about what a sad day I had.
Why me?
Came into the 7th ave store, saw the Ugly Dolls, Jelly Cats, Monchhichis and I felt the amazing energy that we have in the store.
So much happiness, fun and all customers are usually smiling and all the kids having so much fun.
Totally a different environment from the DMV, hahahahahaha!!!!!!!
After 10 minutes, my face and energy changed.
Thank God, I am in a nice environment job, full of colors, happiness and healthy people.
Area Kids is just like magic place.
Now, I am happy no more crying.
I just cant wait to go to the DMV tomorrow with my marriage license and tell you a new story.

New Headband Blues

Well folks, I'm sorry to say that I have a very tragic story for you today. I, like many of you I'm sure, am a fan of the store Urban Outfitters. You could say that I'm more than a fan. Some might say that I have a bit of a problem. Others might try to hide my wallet and knock me unconscious every time I pass the store. Well, last weekend those people were unsuccessful and I stopped by the Urban Outfitters a few blocks away from my house (lethal, I know) and bought a couple small, cute things - a necklace that is also a working clock, a pair of earrings, and an excellent feathered headband which I'm wearing for the first time today.

Here's where the tragic part starts. I had the headband on for half an hour, tops, when all of a sudden I'm hit with a blinding, awful headache. I took a tylenol. I drank a bottle of water. I had lunch. I turned up the air conditioning. Nothing made a bit of difference until I took of my headband for a minute. Voila - almost instantly the headache was gone.

Now Area fans, I ask you. What am I to do? I guess the most logical, responsible, least painful answer would be to never wear this headband again. But I don't think I've properly described just how fly it is. It is, and I don't use this term casually, superfly.

Maybe I can have my head shrunk just a little bit.

Or maybe I should give it to a tiny-headed hobo. Hobos need fashion love too!

Arrrhg Matey! Pirates Booty!

What is it about pirates booty snacks that make me all tingly inside? Well maybe its because it is made with all natural ingredients, low fat, healthy and did I mention DELICIOUS? My favorite is the aged cheddar corn. They are the perfect light and crunchy snack to hold me through the afternoon.

I see a lot of our customers come in with their kids and they are usually snacking on a bag of pirates booty, so I decided to try some the same day and I became hooked ever since. Guys and gals, you should all try some!! They are good and good for you.

Tap it

Thanks to Ursula I've been carrying my new water bottle everywhere. It tends to feel a bit heavier then plastic but I think it will last longer. Part of it's purpose is to promote drinking NYC tap water which I've been doing against my mother's protests for quite a while now. I always said that as long as you wait for that funny white stuff to disappear, you're fine. I was right all along! Those are just air bubbles that get trapped in the water during the trip from the reservoir.
