Stressed Out!!!

There is so much to do here at fifth, as usual i feel overwhelmed!!! Aside from what i know needs to be done already, i.e. cleaning the basement, pricing sale items, cleaning and folding, there is always a huge list of other things to do like organizing the shoe section, blogging, cleaning the bathroom and more!!! i want to do it all, but cannot seem to wrap my head around the idea that you cannot all get it all done in one day, especially if you are alone or with a trainee. I'm sleepy, i wanna go home and lie in my bed and sleep forever!!!

Pull Toys.

So cute..
Kind of weird...

WOW!!! Look At Fifth Ave!!

It has been a few days since i have worked at Fifth Ave, and i was shocked when i came in to see how amazing it looked! The toy section was incredible Jess and Loretta must have been doing some heavy duty organizing and cleaning. Today, aside from keeping the store looking so glorious, i trained one of our newest editions, Heather, as well as pricing sale items which we are completely over run with! Our sale section is pretty much full so spread the word about the tons of sale stuff we have at fifth avenue!! We have tons of really nice stuff as much as 60% off! That includes winter and fall clothes as well as spring and summer.

Impulse Shuffle

While (for the most part) we like to keep a clear countertop here at AREA Play, I sometimes like to strategically place items in this hallowed space to inspire the ever-notorious
"impulse purchase".... Usually I pick something that hasn't yet grabbed the attention of our customers; this week I put a case of the new Rubbabu balls up here and now they're flying!

Another good choice for the "impulse shuffle" might be old favorites that may have been forgotten. For example, the wind-up swimming fish were hiding for the longest time, not one sold in months. We put them up on the counter, they were gone inside of one weekend.

Manipulative? Perhaps. Helpful? Perhaps. Creative and fun commerce? Definitely!

Try it out AREA peeps....

Nobody comes outside.
It is a quiet day and everybody probably is at home just hanging out.
Many things to do over here.
Clean windows, inventory, organizing, folding etc.
It has been a very quiet morning.
I hope everybody will come out this afternoon.
Lot of surprises here at 7th ave. (SALE ITEMS)

It's called a typewriter

You know what we had to use before computers.
This is mine:
It's a 1914 #10 from Royal. Isn't is pretty, well dirty but pretty. I just purchased it and can't wait to start sending letters home from it. Now I just need to buy ribbon for it and plenty of white-out. Anyone need a penpal?

the secret(s)

Well, as we head into fall, AREA tends to start stuffing its shelves in subconscious minor preparation, I believe, for the holiday season. Boxes upon boxes drop down into the basement, and do i my best to get through them as fast as possible.

I'll tell you how:

1 pair of scissors in my back right pocket
1 boxcutter in front right pocket (in case i drop scissors somewhere, it happens a lot!)
2 markers back left pocket
1 or 2 regular pens
1 indelible memory and the will to survive against any imminent cardboard onslaught

Check out what just came in: Bruder Trucks + Poupette Dolls from Corolle!!!!

5,4,3,2,1...BLAST OFF

So I'm a big kid. Okay, I'm a really big kid (you can interpret that however you want). I have a bit of a love for '50s/'60s style fantasy rocket ships. I even have a pair of rocket ship/outerspace onsies. What? They make them for adults too--they're amazing during the winter! When I saw Sugar Booger's outerspace baby spoon and fork at the AREA Kids store I freaked out. I know they are for the smaller ones but they would be a perfect carry along in any adults lunch box fitting ever so nicely in that days tubberware. Is anyone else getting hungry?
